Welcome to Wesley Mission School Moheto,Kenya

For the children of Moheto, a small village in Migori County, Kenya, education is not just a dream, it’s their only hope of escaping poverty. Public schools are overcrowded and under-resourced, while private schools are prohibitively expensive for most families.

At Wesley Mission School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive educational environment for young minds to thrive. Our focus is on holistic development, creating a foundation for lifelong learning and success. Through innovative teaching methods and a supportive community, we aim to inspire a love for learning and personal growth in every student.

Our Mission

Education is a road to empowerment!

Our mission is to create a safe space that allows students to develop essential life skills, embrace moral values, and support vulnerable groups, including young sexual minorities and girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM). We envision a future where every child can thrive in an inclusive and safe school environment. This school embodies our commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to promote quality education and gender equality.

Why This Matters

-1.5 million school-aged children in Kenya are not in school due to    poverty.

- One in two Kenyan girls will never attend school.

- One in three Kenyan 6th graders cannot read or write.

- Nine in ten children from poor households will fail to complete          8th grade.

Updates/News

Wesley Mission School was launched in January 2025 and has recently passed a review by Kenyan officials.

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our 6-phase rollout for a self-supporting school in Moheto, Kenya! We have officially opened our pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes at the First United Methodist Church (UMC), and the response has been overwhelming!

Initially aiming for 40 students, we’ve now welcomed over 80! This success is all thanks to the generous support of our wonderful donors. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited about the impact we’re making together!
